EL MENTIROSO at Arts on Site
El Mentiroso is for grown-ups being bullied by childhood trauma — it’s for anyone haunted by harm. A 70-minute dance theater descent into the subconscious of a Fool who is desperate to extract the truth from a lie. This is an irreverent - mythological - game show - locura - fever dream about intergenerational trauma, loss of innocence, cyclops, and M&M’s. The Verbatim Salon
With support from American Playwriting Foundation. A theater collective sharing performances of testimonies from people navigating the US immigration system using the in-ear verbatim technique. Ongoing monthly salon at Theatre Row. Come hear stories, congregate & discuss - next salon on Wednesday, August 13th at 7p at Theatre Row. All proceeds go to Center for Constitutional Rights. See/Unsee at the PRISM Festival
Presentation of a new musical/song-cycle seance about the imagined life of painter Hilma af Klint, written by Lila Blue and directed by Jillian Jetton, with 10-piece actor-musician ensemble. Produced by the PRISM Festival of New Queer Musicals, of the Makers’ Ensemble, at the Brick Theater 6/18-6/22. More info here.
The Vermont Farm Project
World premiere of new indie-folk musical at Northern Stage written by Jessica Kahkoska, music by Tommy Crawford, directed by Sarah Wansley. Following 8 farmers thru a day of farming in Vermont with an actor-musician ensemble. Runs May 7-25 at the Barrette Center in White River Junction, VT.
